Sustainable Palm Oil Certification Scheme Frameworks and Impacts: A Systematic Literature Review

Sustainability certification schemes were introduced to the palm oil industry as a response address negative environmental and social impacts associated with development of this industry. The first scheme for oil, Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), was established in 2004, followed by other non-governmental initiatives ensure sustainable production oil. Indonesia Malaysia, two largest producers world, (ISPO) Malaysia (MSPO) 2011 2015, respectively. This article aims analyze existing literature related studies on RSPO, MSPO ISPO basis articles identified from SCOPUS (scopus.com) Web Science (clavirate.com) databases. Results showed that research RSPO has been widely conducted compared ISPO. Thus, further is needed understand dynamics implementation sustainability certification. also provides an insight how industry, particularly MSPO, could contribute achieving Development Goals (SDGs).
